We are approaching the time of year where we look back at the successes of the summer season and look forward to winter golf.
Men’s Annual Dinner
The Men’s Annual Dinner and prize presentation will take place on 6 November. Vice Captain Mark Hickson will host the evening on my behalf. Mark says, “It is with much pleasure that I am looking forward to chairing this year’s dinner and to welcoming members and guests to this most enjoyable of evenings.”
The Annual Dinner is a highlight of our golfing year where we celebrate and salute our prize-winners.
Our guest speaker will be Steven J Innes, an experienced event compere, host, auctioneer and master of ceremonies.
Tickets cost £40 and are available from the bar or through HowDidiDo. If booking with the bar staff, please confirm your menu choice at the same time.
Winter Leagues
All winter leagues will be under way by next week, and I hope the weather is kind to us on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. If you have not played before, the leagues are a great reason to get out on the course during winter. They also give newer members an opportunity to meet long-standing members, settle into the club and make friends. We are very fortunate to have volunteers who give their time to run the leagues on our behalf. A smile and a commitment to ready golf will help everyone enjoy the season.

I’d also like to take a moment to thank Sandy, Linda and all their staff for seeing us through a very busy summer season. I’ve heard nothing but appreciation for their efforts on our behalf from members and visitors alike. They are having a well-deserved few days off towards the end of this month to gee them up for the Christmas madness so the club may be closed on non-league days for one week.
