Matchplay Competitions

With the Matchplay competitions well underway, for all players who have followed the instructions provided and arranged matches in a timely manner, logged scores on Club V1 or HDID and also kept the back bar sheets updated… THANK YOU.

There are some matches which appear yet to be played and are now past the deadlines.  To those who have requested extensions in the required format, thank you, your tie is logged.  As a reminder…  It is all golfers’ responsibility to contact your opponent/s as quickly as possible to arrange your tie.  It is understood that due to work/holiday commitments some matches may be problematic to arrange, therefore extensions can be granted.  Any requests for extensions are to be made with Craig Mitchell at Craig@doenorth.co.uk.  The request for any extension MUST include the proposed date of your arranged match.  Generally up to 1 week’s extension is suitable, however consideration must be given for future rounds and any potential knock-on effect.  Any tie which is showing as not been played with no notice given may be subject to both players being disqualified.

Once your match has been played, please make sure your result is posted on Club V1/HDID as well as write this up on the notice board in the back bar as quickly as possible.

MGC Matches – St. Andrews(a), Carnoustie(h)

The scratch team had a great 8-2 victory on the Medal Course on Saturday. Well done and thanks to all the players.

We have 2 more matches coming up in quick succession, starting on Saturday 27th June with the away leg of our scratch match versus St. Andrews.

This will take place on the New Course. The match is played off scratch, but players with an index of up to 10 are encouraged to play as the teams are intended to be matched up. Final team selection will be based on handicap.

The form includes an option to indicate if you would take the bus, which will leave from Monifieth Golf Club at approximately 1030am (to be confirmed)

It’s always a good day out. Please consider this opportunity to represent your club at The Home of Golf.

This is followed on Saturday 11th July with a home match with The Carnoustie Golf Club, with 8 Scratch matches on the Medal and 8 Handicap on the Ashludie.

Please follow the link below to register your availability for these matches ASAP.

Summer Matches 2026

While we appreciate that unforeseen events happen, please double-check your calendar before signing up for matches.
We have a limited squad, and signing up effectively acts as a commitment to play.
Late withdrawals put significant pressure on the team and those managing the fixture. Please only commit if you are certain you can make it.
