Not looking forward to those long dreich days when golf just isn’t on your agenda? Why not take up a volunteering role that will help occupy your time, while helping primary school age children in need across Dundee? I am a Trustee and Volunteer with the charity Dundee Bairns, which exists to help tackle child poverty in Dundee. We really need additional volunteers to enable us to support our school holiday Fun and Food programme, and our Winter term time school Tea Clubs programme. This would involve you giving some of your time to collect meals from a central kitchen and deliver them to schools or community hubs within the city. The time commitment is not onerous, but it is time well spent that makes a very real and positive difference to the lives of bairns in Dundee.
