Despite a very showery weather forecast nearly all the competitors showed up on the day including a group of ladies who had travelled all the way from Kintore Golf Club in Aberdeenshire.

Sunshine and showers had been predicted for the morning but in the end there was only sunshine. Those who teed off around lunch time weren’t quite so lucky as they experienced three heavy showers and found it hard going, but, impressively, it was from these groupings that the winners emerged.

Donna had prepared a special menu for us and it was lovely to see so many female golfers enjoying themselves in the clubhouse and dining al fresco at the benches outside.

Ashley Smith, who partnered Seonaid Gibson from Forfar Golf Club, won the Hazel Cruikshank cup which is awarded to the Monifieth player with the lowest net score. This was gifted by Hazel’s husband and is a beautiful, silver cup which was polished especially for the occasion.
