The "Ludie"
as it is affectionately known is a much shorter course but
with tight fairways and small, tricky greens it is by no means
a push over.
At 5123 yards it is a par 68 but plays a standard scratch
of 65. With many of the par 4's in the 250 to 300 yard range,
big hitters can have a go at reaching the greens with their
drives but beware the penalties for missing the greens in
the wrong place can then make getting a par a problem.
Again trees line some of the fairways and the bunkers around
the greens are punishing.
The "Ludie" is an ideal course for a quick round
and is very popular with the Ladies and Juniors.
A large
practice ground including a pitching area with bunkers is
located across the Barry Road from the Ashludie Course and
is within easy reach of the club either by foot or car.
