Lady members of Monifieth Golf Club  handed over a cheque for £642 to Laurie Matthew, Coordinator of local Charity Eighteen And Under.  The club chose Eighteen And Under as their sponsored Charity at the start of 2009 and raised the funds with raffles, tombola and games nights over the last year.

In accepting the cheque, Laurie Matthew said, ‘We are extremely grateful to all the ladies of Monifieth Golf Club for their support.  Donations and gestures of goodwill such as these allow us to continue to  offer support to vulnerable young people and carry on our violence and abuse prevention work through the VIP (Violence is Preventable) programme. The money raised will help us to put copies of Toddler’s Rhymes and Happy Dog, our books for pre-school children, into libraries across Scotland.  Any residue will buy some equipment for the young people who use our centre, or go towards producing another young person’s poetry book.

The cheque was handed over by Jackie Brown, Vice Captain of the Monifieth Ladies Golf Club section at the start of a games night.
